Ellon Primary School:‘We stand as EPS: Engaged, Positive, Supported’
Ellon Primary School's Enhanced Provision is a specialised support service for the Ellon Cluster, aligned with our vision to be a place where everyone is Engaged, Positive, and Supported (EPS). This provision ensures that every pupil, regardless of their needs, can thrive and feel a sense of belonging within our school community. We recognise that some children require a more specialised curriculum to meet their full potential. The Enhanced Provision offers tailored support that may include access to dedicated sensory rooms and life skills areas, and the use of specialist teaching strategies. This aligns with our CARE aims, particularly the belief that every voice counts, by ensuring that each child's unique learning needs are heard and met.
The Enhanced Provision offers flexible and personalised support, reflecting our commitment to helping every child become Resilient and Achieving (REACH values). Support is delivered in a way that best suits the individual pupil, including:
Outreach: Our specialist team provides consultation, strategies, or in-class support directly to other schools within the Ellon Cluster.
Blended Learning: A combination of support within a mainstream classroom and targeted sessions in the Enhanced Provision.
Assessment Placements: Short-term placements to allow for a thorough assessment of a child's learning needs.
Full-Time Placement: A dedicated placement within the Enhanced Provision for pupils who require intensive, specialised support.
This flexible model of support helps to embed our core value of Honesty by being transparent about the needs of our pupils. At the same time, the focus on tailored strategies reflects our commitment to Curiosity drives learning (CARE aim). The ultimate goal is to empower all pupils to be Connected (REACH value) to their education, their peers, and their community, making them successful learners and confident individuals.
